The country will soon allow African citizens to enter  without obtaining visas in advance, president Mulatu Teshome told parliament on Monday (Oct. 8). The move follows the decision in June by new prime minister Abiy Ahmed to  start issuing online visas  for tourists and visitors coming from all over the world. Currently, all travelers, except those from Kenya and Djibouti,  have to get  a visa before departure or receive it on arrival. The decision to relax the visa regime will likely be a boon for the country’s hospitality and conference tourism sectors. President John Magufuli Tanzania’s Magufuli stays away from UN General Assembly ‘to save money’  5th October 2018   Africa ,  News Tanzania’s president, John Magufuli has explained that he did not go to New York for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in order to save money. Magufuli, who rarely travels out of the country, thanked the foreign minister, Dr. Augustine Mahiga, for always representing him well in international fora. ‘‘He has just arrived from the UN summit where he represented me, saving the government money. This is because sending a minister and his assistant is less expensive than sending the president and his delegation,” Magufuli said.
